![]() ![]() Call me crazy, but I have faith that EVE: Echoes will not be one of those money-grabbing schemes. While it's understandable Developers need to make money, there are certainly more ethical ways to do it. They are not focused on making a good game, they're focused on making as much money as they possibly can first and foremost. Chinese developers are sucking up money from the youth of countries all around the world using "lottery" type tactics to develop addictions. The second biggest concern is the whole "pay to win" aspect of Mobile Gaming.I do think it's possible to maintain the core complexity and mechanics of the game without sizing down the core mechanics of EVE. It's one of the things that turns new players away from getting passed the learning curve. Which (let's be honest) has tons of redundancy and is long overdue for a major overhaul. When you think about it though, the only real complexity of PC EVE that would be required to significantly modified is the User Interface. How could you successfully implement the complexity of what makes EVE Online so great into a small mobile device?.Of course I have my doubts, as most veteran EVE players would. We had a great battle and It was the first time my girlfriend has ever experienced "the shakes" in a game. Her and I have been in love with mobile gaming ever since. I pulled over at the first location I could find, turned off my car, and opened up my phone. She was in the passenger seat playing nova and all of a sudden she yelled "Our alliance is under attack!". One of the best moments in Mobile Gaming I've ever had was when I was driving to the mall with her. My girlfriend had never played a game like EVE before, but she started playing NOVA with me when I did. The great thing about mobile gaming is that it gives me a chance to spend more time in the real world while also satisfying my love gaming.Imagine an EVE where you can ping your buddies from anywhere and they can jump online for a fight from the mall, or the grocery store, or in line at the DMV etc.The content will be incredible in EVE Mobile if they do it right. Which is why I am looking forward to EVE: Echoes. It's amazing game (gameplay wise), but the developers of Nova Empire are some of the worst greed hungry developers I've ever come across in any game I've played in the last 20 years - it's REALLY bad.Unfortunately there is no other game on the mobile market that can remotely compete with it at the moment though. IT'S A COMPLETE SCAM AND MONEY GRABBING CHINESE MOBILE GAME. I couldn't quit gaming altogether though so I found something on Mobile that was as close to EVE as I could find (Nova Empire). My girl plays games with me, but PC games like EVE are more about the virtual relationships than the physical ones since it requires you to be glued to a seat in your office for hours at a time with limited interactions with the real world. I mostly quit because I got into a serious relationship that required more of my attention. I finally "won" EVE 2 years ago when I finally decided to quit. Just wanted to rant a little bit about EVE: Echoes - I'm really excited about it! Ever since it was announced last year I just can't stop thinking about how great it would be to be able to play the absolute BEST MMO ever created on a mobile device. ![]()
